WD Elements External 6tb Hard Drive is not recognised by the WD discovery software. Does anybody know of a solution to the problem. As I am not able to set a security password for the drive. I have 4 other WD external drives with no issue. But they are not element drives. Any help will be appreciated.
WD Elements have no hardware or software encryption for Password protection.
If you wanted that feature you should have purchased the same type of drive as your other 4 WD external drives.
The Elements range is just “Basic Storage” which is why they are cheaper than other WD hard drives with more features.
