Wd Elements beeping and not recognized

So i have a a Wd Elements and it used to work perfectly on my MacBook Air mid 2013 without any problems! but now, i left my hard drive alone for about a month or two without plugging it in my computer or any other computers. I came back and plugged it in my computer, it started beeping and was not recognized on my desktop, finder or Disk Utility

A beeping sound is not a good sign. Replace the USB cable, and if the unit still beeps then it should be replaced under warranty.
