I had the same problem on both our Mac’s. I took out my Windows XP laptop, and plugged in the WD, and it could see the drive. I then correctly ejected the drive, and plugged it into both the Mac’s - both can now see it. As an aside, you could also try to click on the “repair” option in MAC utilities to see if it reboots the drive. Best of luck.
