WD Customer Upgrade Program possible?

Hi,

I have a My Book Studio and the power adapter, which could not be found in Singapore, fails often. Will i be able to upgrade it to another hard drive without the original packaging ? I know that it is only for customers residing in US, but my friend would be in living in US due to student exchange program this coming summer. Therefore, I was wondering if my friend could upgrade it for me while he is there. What would the procedure be like?

The thing is, i’ve tried filing a request before posting in the forum but has been unable to do so with the following error : An error was encountered during knowledge base search.
