I ran a benchmark test on the drive and the results appear normal, but when I try to actually move/copy files its very slow.

Benchmarking this WD as external with Black Magic speed in OS X Sonoma only gives about 900Mb/s write/read speeds. Files transfer is extremely slow compared to those results (42Mb/s).
