WD BLUE 1TB 3D NAND SSD - Toshiba L655 Series

I am trying to replace a WD 1TB HD in my Toshiba Satellite L655 Series laptop with the WD BLUE 1TB 3D NAND SSD. I can enter the Bios and see the hard drive. If I attempt a clean install of Windows 10, from both Flash Drive and DVD the install startup stalls immediately after the first graphic appears. I know the laptop is SATA II but it should be compatible with a SATA III drive at the SATA II performance levels. Any ideas? Thanks!
