I’ve had my 1tb black drive for little under a year now and everytime I turn on my computer, it makes a horrible rattling and grinding noise and rattles. Might it still be covered under warrenty, and if it is, how do I recieve a new one? I haven’t mis used it or anything.
Hi yes the Black drives have a 5 year warranty you can go here to check the warranty status and also start your RMA. http://support.wd.com/warranty/index.asp?lang=en . You can do a advanced RMA where they require your credit card number but they send you the new drive first and then give you 30 days to send the old one back. Or the standard RMA where you send the drive in and then when they receive it they will send the new one out.
