Hi All, after 2 years of usage i found 1 damaged sector in my hard drive Black 1TB. Is it valid to ask RMA? in case not, how can i solve it?
Contact WD support. Personally I would assume that it’s a candidate for RMA. Depends on the equipment. Some computing devices will just map-out a set of bad sectors, never use a bad area of a drive and it could work for many more years. Some other applications, like security DVRs, need a 100% defect free drive.
I’m assuming the drive’s never been given a knock and not been modified, so could be RMAed.
