WD Black 6TB (WD6003FZBX) cache size

i’m seeing conflicting specifications on new model, comparing WD’s pdf at https://www.wdc.com/content/dam/wdc/website/downloadable_assets/eng/spec_data_sheet/2879-771434.pdf to the specs at pretty much every retailer listing it at the moment. WD’s pdf says cache size is 128MB, everywhere else shows 256MB. This page (http://wdc.co.gl/en/products/catalog/) also shows 256MB.

can anyone shed any light?

Hi Facboy,

The correct cache size of WD Black (WD6003FZBX) is 128 MB.

ok thank you. what is the difference between WD6003FZBX and the ‘current’ (about to be EOL’d) WD6002FZWX?

Why are the new WD Black Hard Drives, 6002FZWX included, still being listed as having a 256 MB cache? See page WD_BLACK™ Best HDD Performance Desktop Gaming Hard Drive | Western Digital for reference.

And like Facboy, I’d like to know what the differences are between the two 6TB WD Black models, 6002FZWX and 6003FZBX. According to the above cited page, the only difference is the cache size, but I recall reading somewhere about there being a difference in power consumption.

If there is a difference in power consumption between the drives, please provide the details, along with any other differences.

Any info is appreciated.

If I order this HD it won’t have a 256MB cache? I’m confused?
