WD Black 512GB WDS512G1X0C fails to update firmware

I have 2 WD Black 512GB Performance SSD - 8 Gb/s M.2 2280 PCIe NVMe Solid State Drive – WDS512G1X0C drives and the dashboard is failing to update the firmware. No error messages or codes. Does anyone know if there is there a way to manually update the firmware via a USB drive?

There appears to be a newer version of the Dashboard and it allowed me to create a bootable USB drive to update the firmware.

I have the same problem. Creating a bootable USB drive also fails with no helpful messages.
