Sorry if this has been asked elsewhere. But, what actually happens when I select DAILY backup or HOURLY backup to the drive?

If I delete a file on my HD, does it then get deleted on the connected HD?

Is WD Backup 1.9.6354.40545 a sync tool?

Or does it just look at the files that have been changed and copy those? How many versions, if any, are stored?

Hello quasimodo,

WD backup is not a sync tool, It just backup your data from the computer to the drive. Deleting any file from your computer Hard drive will not effect the files on your external WD drive.

Also, WD Backup maintains a second copy of all files in history for the purpose of recovery to an older version.
