I’m posting this incase someone has a similar issue in the future.
When I tried to install the WD Anywhere Backup software that came with my ShareSpace NAS, I got the following error:
Error 1327: Invalid Drive Z
This error was being caused by several folders that I had mapped to the Z: drive on my computer, which was my network mapped drive to the NAS.
To resolve the issue, I did the following:
- Ran regedit from the command prompt
- Navigated to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Explorer/User Shell Folders
- Deleted any folder paths that started with “Z:”
That seemed to do the trick.
