WD 500GB wont power up

Hi there, my WD 500 GB (WD5000E035-00) wont power up… when its un pluged the green light on the power cable is on, but as soon as i plug the cable into the drive the green light goes out.  The blue light on the unit flicks on then off and then nothing!!  Can anyone help, there is stuff on there i need!!

what model drive you have?

check if the drive shows on disk management

If the drive doesn’t power up I doubt it would show up in disk manager. Put your ear to the drive when connecting the power, do you hear any sounds? Buzzing, ticking, or silent?
