WD 1TB external USB hard drive has stopped working

Hi

my WD 1TB external USB hard drive has jst stopped working I downloaded the minitool and it actually sees the drive unlike My Computer - but it states bad disk and logical with nooperations pending if that makes any sense to anyone

I’m desperate to get it working as it has a lot of important photos on there - PC World state they want to send it off for a rebuild costing a staggering £700

Can anyone help PLEASE!!!

Get a Linux Live CD like Ubuntu and boot from that it doesn’t actually install. Sometimes you can recover data that way.

Thanks for the suggestion would that be the same as trying to open it with linux? PC World and an independant have supposedly tried this and it didn’t work
