WB Backup Utlitity doesn't launch

I just bought the WD Passport Ultra 1 TB drive and installed the software, but the WB Backup application won’t launch. When I launch the application manually (.exe file), I get to the dialog box where the app tries to discover devices, but it won’t recognize my drive (or anything else, for that matter).

What’s going on here? I run Windows 7 SP 1 (I want to back up before upgrading to Windows 10).

Try to reinstall the application, see if by doing this you are able to open it without any issues.
