Warranty period on rma replcament gone from 776 days left to 114 days left!

hi,

just got a replacement green drive, when i registered it on the site it’s warranty period is only 114 days rather than 776 days on the drive that it’s replacing.

surely this cannot be correct?

have wdc sent me an old drive?

has policy changed?

All RMA drives go out of our shipping center with a standard 3 or 4 month warranty period.  Once we receive the failed drive back, we will update the warranty to match the failed drive’s warranty period.  Unless, of course, the failed drive’s warranty period is less than the replacement drive’s warranty.  Then you get to keep the extra months.
