Virgin Media Hub 3.0 blocks remote access

I have a WD My Cloud.
Remote access when away from hone always used to work perfectly well with my Virgin Media Super Hub2 router.
The router was changed to a Hub 3.0.
Since then I can only access the My Cloud via the internet as long as i am connected to my home network via ethernet or wifi.
As soon as I go away from home and try to access My Cloud the router blocks it.
All settings on new router are identical to previous.
It appears many have this problem. Does anyone know a solution please.
