Our community hasn’t been made fully compatible with Internet Explorer 9 and Firefox 4 yet, which can lead to an empty post. It should be compatible soon, but in the meanwhile you could use another compatible browser in order to keep your Community activities bug-free.

I got problem using the WDTV Live to watch FLV and AVI video file. The manual said it can read both file format. For some reason, it is not happening for me. I have upgraded to the latest firmware. Anyone help?
Both are just containers. It all depends what codecs they contain. You could post mediainfo for some of the unplayable files and we can see what is in them.
See below that I extract from the mediaInfo for the FLV and AVI format that I can’t play in WDTV LIVE. Pls advise what is wrong.

According to the manual, AVI only supports Xvid, AVC, MPEG1/2/4, WMV9 and VC-1, not DV.
According to the original manual, FLV isn’t supported at all.
According to the updated manual, FLV is supported for H.264.
Neither one of your files is a supported format.
If you really want to play these FLV and AVI videos with WD TV Live, I suggest you transcode the videos first. There are various video converter tools that can help you.
Convert your H.263 eocoded FLV to H.264 FLV.
Convert your DVCPRO AVI to DivX AVI.
