Version 2.4.2 doesn't seem to back up videos

Hi,

I recently bought an WD My Passport Ulta 2 TB, model WDBMWV0020BBK-NESN.

In my first and only attempt to back-up my files so far, it only backed up half of the files, of a total of 256 GB.

When I check “View Files” from the “Files not backed up” list, what I see is mostly videos: .mp4, .MOV, .avi, etc (dont know if it is a coincidence or not).

Could someone please tell me what’s going on and how to solve this problem?

Attached is a print from my screen.

How long have you left it?

Movie files by nature are quite large, so take some time to back up, often getting “saved for later” and then done over quieter times when the machine it perhaps not so busy.

Also are these files being accessed by anything else (e.g. a media player, or an indexing service) as files which are accessed or open in another application cannot be backed up until they are closed/released. Smartware doesn’t have the ability to use a shadow copy like MS Backup (and other similar applications) sometimes do.

Thanks Darren. I left it working thru the night and it worked. My machine is old and becoming very slow, that’s why I doing the backup so I can format it, so maybe that’s why it took longer than the usual.
