Sweet… I’ll give it a whirl, soon.
Thanks.
I have exactely the same problem.
Here is a workaroud :
my windows language options are set to Français(France) ; I had to set to Anglais(Etats-Unis) to make XML Converter work.
Could you please correct your program so I do not have to change this system parameter ?
regards

What problem is that?
Tony I just tried your potentially amazing program last night and a few times today and I just can’t get it to work.
I’m using the latest WD TV Live Streaming Media Player and the latest firmware, with a 320 GB USB 2.0 WD portable drive plugged into it and I have chosen the “local storage” option for the WD TV Live to source videos from.
My files are stuctured like this: Series Name Folder\Season 6\Series Name.s06e01 - Episode Title.mkv
Series Name.s06e01 - Episode Title.mkv
Series Name.s06e02 - Episode Title.mkv
Series Name.s06e03 - Episode Title.mkv
etc
Here is a screenshot of the settings I have enabled in your program:
I then click “the season” and let it do its thing. Then I change the “save to” folder and do the rest of the seasons and then click quit.
Then I plug the USb drive into the WD TV Live Streaming Media Player and this is what I get:
Nothing works except one crappy picture that is the same for each season, and doesn’t fit the thumbnail dimensions:
Series folder showing each season:

And here are the files in season 6, none of which have been updated with any info or pics:

Obviously your program is great and it’s helped so many people, but I just can’t get it to work. Any help you could give me would be really appreciated heaps. I must be doing something slightly wrong.
Thanks,
Olpol.
None of your picture URLs are working…
I can see the pictures of the tv show “Weeds”
Joey and I can see them, but try these Tony:

Thanks.
I use
Series Name / Season / Series Name - [SxE] - Episode Name.avi
ie The Big Bang Theory / Season 01 / The Big Bang Theory - [01x01] - Pilot.avi
Will this tool work with this format?

What you have set for the FILE NAMING TEMPLATE doesn’t match your file names.
You need to set it to match. In your case, it looks like it should be:
^T.s^Se^E
but you have it set to
^T S^SE^E
which isn’t even close.

Yes…
Thanks very much Tony. I was a bit confused by the tooltip for the “file naming template” because it says it’s how the fetcher will name files. I misinterpreted that to mean that’s how it’d rename my files for me.
I’ll give that change a go.
A few more questions if you don’t mind:
Can you determine why I got the same picture for both seasons, rather than a season specific thumb for each season folder?
To use the “hidden folder” function, how do I create a hidden folder in the file structure called “.XMLFetcherBackdrops”? I got an errors saying “you must type a file name”. I think starting the name with a dot confuses it into thinking I’m typing the extension.
Using the newest WD TV Live Streaming Media Player, do I need to tick "hide thumbnail jpeg files (live/live+ compatability)?
Is there a way to slow down the rotation of backdrop pictures? They seem to change every second or two. Maybe they could change every 5 seconds or so?
Thanks again for your time in answering my questions, and for all the effort you put into making this app.

Windows does not allow “.” in a folder name. You need to use Dos Command Prompt. eg.
C:>mkdir .XMLFetcherBackdrops
Another way… Open Notepad and type mkdir .XMLFetcherBackdrops then save it as foldermaker.bat
Now, double click on the foldermaker.bat file and it will create your folder.

The Timing and Transitions for Backdrop Pictures in Video Gallery View is controlled by the ’ Photo’ Settings.
Setup > Photo Settings > Sildeshow Interval Time
Setup > Photo Settings > Sildeshow Transition
Thanks Joey
Okay so it’s obviously using the image in each season folder called “-1” as the season folder image in lieu of a specific image.
Is there a way I can get the DVD season art to become the folder image for each season?
So I went and renamed my TV show files into the format that I prefer: Series Name 101 - Episode Name.ext
Then in the scraper tool, I changed the File Naming Template and the Title Format (do these always have to be the same format?) to " ^T ^e^S - ^t " and redid all of the scraping for the entire season.
However the result was that only the following episodes scraped properly: 101, 202, 303 etc. The rest remained unchanged.
This is what ended up in the folders for seasons 2 and 4. Note that instead of creating xml files called 201, 202 203 etc, it created files called 102, 202, 302 etc. So the only coincidental cross match in each season was the episode number that matched the series number:
season 2: http://www.freeimagehosting.net/eidkd
season 4: http://www.freeimagehosting.net/kxlyt
I’m guessing you meant ^s^E instead of ^e^S? An, no, the title format doesn’t need to match the file name.
Whoops thanks Tony!
How do I get the “season art (click to change)” image to be the folder thumb for the each season folder within the series folder?
And similarly, how do I assign a thumb for the series folder?
You can use any of the JPGs as a folder by copying it to a file named “folder.jpg” and putting it inside the folder.
