VCD Manager does not recognize the version 2.010 of the firmware of the disk

Hello,

I updated my new disk (My book essential 2To) to the latest firmware version 2.010.

I tried then to manage the virtual disk with the VCD manager (mac version 1.0.0.4) but I get the message :“you cannot configure  your WD smartware VCD with the current version of the firmware on your drive. Please update…”

Can you help me ? I cannot see what upper version I could apply.

Have you try to disable the vcd in another mac computer?

that drive Was preformatted to be use in a wnidows computer so , another thing that you could try is to update the firmware using the windows version from a windows based computer and then go ahead to disable the wd smartware vcd .
