I used windows vista backup to do my backups. Had a drive crash; have new drive. Windows does not seem able to see the old backups. Is it because with my new drive that gave the unit a new user name?

If i remember well vista backup utility is not good as windows 7 because do not create a system image i think and it don’t backup everything. Are you sure the old backups didn’t get deleted somehow?
a correction,
windows vista business, ultimate and enterprise does have the option to image the system.
