Are Discovery, Drive Utilities, Security, Smartware, etc advisable to use when a My Book, Essential , Elements or Passport is connected as an external drive to any My Cloud or even MBL Duo? In my case it is a My Cloud Mirror with it’s myriad of configurable options. Would the stand alone software utilities conflict with the internal administration of the Mirror?

Utility tool of connected external hard drives with My Cloud doesn’t affect. External hard drives connected with My Cloud would be used for backup only (i.e. NAS to USB or USB to NAS).
