USB HD not found (Backup from USB to NAS)

Good morning,

I’m trying to backup from an external USB harddisk to my “My Clud EX2 Ultra” NAS.
I tried to connect it to both USB 3.0 ports on the back of the NAS, but the NAS doesn’t detect the hard drive.

My intention was to make a backup following the procedure described at the following link: My Cloud: configurazione dei backup USB

Could be a number of reasons the USB Hard drive is not detected

I’ve tried all the troubleshooting options suggested in your link…but no solution.
It’s a Seagate HD, 1TB, USB 3.0, perfectly working with any OS…
But MyClOud :wink: still doesn’t sees it…
I’ve even removed the hidden files (i.e. Seagate.exe) and User Guide folders from the HD before plugging in again, but nothing happens…
Any other suggestion?
Modify access permissions to the HD? (it should be fully accessible from any user…but who knows?)

you haven’t told us the file system format

it’s not formatted exFAT is it ? … cus that won’t work.
