USB Expansion Port cannot write on my attached HD

I just plugged my WD My passport 1 TB HD into the expansion port and succesfully mapped the My_passport drive, however, when I try to write into the folders, it display the following error:

Unable to create the file ‘New Text Document.txt’

The parameter is incorrect

I have also set the My_Passport share to public access with same results.

if I plug the HD directly into my PC I am able to manipulate it correctly.

I appreciate any help.

Do you encounter the same issues when you access your disk drive directly over your local network instead of using the remote access application (WD My Cloud)?

Unfortunately, I am having the same issue with both connection options.
