When inserting my WD Passport (2.0) into any of my USB drives, it comes up as an unrecognized device. It’s suggesting to re-install drivers and all to resolve this issue. My question is, if I do this, does it wipe the data on my drive, or will the data be there after updating/re-installing drivers for this?
Reinstalling driver should not affect data stored on the drive.

I have the same problem.
I re-installed the driver and I am now getting a message that says “not installed on drive.”
Obviously it is not installed on the drive, that is my problem, I cannot get to the external drive.
