Does the WD TV Live upconvert like some dvd players do?

The WD uses the Sigma Designs SMP8655 chip which has programmable up/down video scaling

That is interesting–but how does one get to the programming to use this capability?  Are you saying this is a menu function?  How would it do this during playback of stand def material?

Would really like to hear how this is being done.
