Unresponsive remote control

Hi, 

I just purchased the WD live TV. During a playback of the movie, I am noticing that the remote control becomes unresponsive/dead? I am unbale to select on the remote to go to the setup menu.

Is this usual?

Pls kindly advice or ask any question if the posting is unclear.
