I am attempting to copy files onto a new My Book Studio 3TB hard drive on a Mac- not going well. It will either turn itself off or in the process of copying will cause a message window to pop up saying “WD My Book 111D Media is in use and connot be powered off.”

I do not have it set up for auto backup and believe I installed the software correctly when first plugging it in. Any suggestions? The window has popped up several times while writing this as I am still trying to copy files. I hit “okay” and it keeps copying but I don’t want to do that forever…

Hello,

Seems that the drive is ejecting itself over and over. Make sure the power adapter is plugged in directly into a wall outlet since this might be the cause of this issue.
