Unattended Import

HI all,
So i purchased the 4TB MyCloud Home and, stupidly didn’t read up first about importing data. So I connected my External HDD to my laptop, and then started to import to the My Cloud Home via the web interface and over WIFI :confounded: yes I know, i know.

So i discovered the desktop app which i have installed, but what i would like to do is:
Connect the HDD to the My Cloud via USB and use the Desktop App to import as there are files over 5gb in size, but i wondered if i can start an import via the Desktop App, can I turn off my laptop and leave the import to run unattended?

Or does the desktop App still need to be “up” for the import to operate?
