Unable to get MyCloud Home app or web page to create a link for a file/picture

After spending nearly two hours with “customer service” and having no solution found … I can not get the PC log in (Win8) or the iOS app to create a link to any file or picture on my new “MyCloud Home” device. Nothing … zip … nada. I get a box saying it’s creating a link … but it never does.

ANY help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
