Unable to format the hard drive

HI please help, initially when i start to back up my computer using the external hard drive, after 6-7 hours, my computer show " The backup target drive error, the backup disk has a corrupted file system."

after that I proceed to reformat it, but till now its still failing after few attempts.

What should I do?

Hi,

It’s possible the drive is corrupt, try writing zeros on the drive, then initialize and reformat it.

Thanks I tried 1st few rounds to reformat but it run a while ( the
indicator "green coloured line’ shows the progress ) till half way, it
failed. I’ve even tried Quick format yet still fail. Anyway thanks for
helping. I got frust and returned back to the seller. Never before I
encounter such problem with WD external drive.
