Unable to connect locally (WD Discovery, login service unavailable)

Bravo! Finally a response that works following years of fruitless attempts with WD support!!

Good job and WD MCH support should have troubleshooted this problem and provided support on this issue. However, if you notice that the administrator of your PC should have had automatically inherited “Full Control” to “All Application Packages” of “WD Discovery.exe” in the first place. Perhaps something happened after the Windows update that the user logged out as administrator and logged in as a user without full control privilege and WD Discovery failed to start properly.

I have scrolled through countless message board threads about this issue. I have gone through all of WD’s troubleshooting steps. Nothing has worked. But then I found this thread! Your solution actually allowed me to use my storage. From one fellow internet user to another
