I want to buy  WD5000LPVX and it is backward compatible to SATA II connection. But to SATA I connection, is it compatible? Because I want to insert it on my PlayStation 3. I heard that PS3 can run WD SATA II HDD without installing any jumper.

But, Wingkit from WD Customer Service linked me to  WD Caviar Black and instructed me to install the jumper. I think he misunderstood. So this is confusing me.

Can someone confirm?

Message text: Never mind. Wingkit himself has replied my mail yesterday and told me that it’s not compatible to SATA I 1.5 Gb/s. I have made a post in my topic and written it’s solved. Thanks by the way.

Sent email to APAC team letting them know the issue has been resolved 01/02
