Trying to load PLEX on MyCloud

I have a mycloud running 2.30.181 and a new Sony 55X900F with Plex preloaded. I think I need to load the plex app to my NAS so that I can play my stored movies. the issue is that I cant see the load App option on the Apps page on the NAS. am I doing something wrong?
If I don’t need Plex, how do I connect my NAS to my TV so that I can stream movies

You did not tell us your new Sony device is a television. I had to look it up. So, the Sony has Plex preloaded, eh? If so, why do you think you need Plex on your My Cloud, too? You probably don’t, so I suggest you open up the TV user manual that surely tells you how to use and setup the Plex in it.

The single bay My Cloud units do not support third party apps like Plex.

If one uses the forum search feature, magnifying glass icon upper right, they’ll find numerous past discussions on Plex and the single bay My Cloud.

For example there is an unofficial way to enable the “apps” tab on the second generation single bay v2.x My Cloud units.

It should be noted the single bay My Cloud units include Twonky Media Server to provide DLNA media serving to any DLNA client on the local network. Check your TV’s documentation to see if it supports accessing a DLNA media server and how to do so on the TV.

thanks Mike27oct - I can’t see my NAS server on the Plex App on my TV or my phone so I figured I may need it also on my NAS so that the 2 could sync up. Oh and Sony support is really bad

Until you set up the Plex server of the TV according to the TV user manual, you may not see anything from your My Cloud, so did you do this yet?
