Trouble with WD TV Live Plus

I recently downloaded a new firmware for the WD Live Plus, but now it will not play any files. It has been saying “Scanning the attached USB device” for 3 days now. The USB is 500 GB Seagate that works on my laptop, as well as my desktop, when connected directly. 

Any ideas why the WD Plus would be scanning for 3 days now?

Sometimes they get “Stuck on Stupid.”

EJECT the drive from the Plus.

Go attach it to your PC and delete the HIDDEN folder .wd_tv

Eject from your PC and return it to the Live.
