I’ve had my WDTV Live Plus for 2 weeks. When I first turned on WDTV I was prompted to upgrade the firmware and I did. Tonight I wanted to update to the new firmware (May 12) and tried to upgrade via a USB flash drive. I copied the 3 firmware files onto the root of my USB flash drive and plugged it into my WDTV. But the WDTV didn’t recognize the new firmware. No prompt to upgrade firmware. Went to the settings area and there was no option to upgrade firmware. I tried a different USB flash drive and the same problem. Reboot the WDTV soft and hard with USB plugged in and not plugged in. Tried factory default. Tried formatting the USB flash to FAT32 and still no joy. I can browse the flash drive via the WDTV with no problem. I just can’t get the WDTV to recognize the firware on the flash drive. Is there something I’m doing wrong?
Nevermind, I just realized I was using the wrong firmware. It wasn’t for the WDTV Live Plus.
