Transferring files via direct connection

Hello, I have about 3tb of data I want to transfer and I want to do it the fastest and most reliable way. I was told by tech support that I should hook it up directly to the computer using the Ethernet connection. But how do I set that up. I currently have both set up using ipv4 static IP addresses. The other thing is I want to do it using IPv6 do to the pack size.  Also both have dual NICs set up for load balancing. Computer i am useing is a Windows 2012 datacenter server.

Hi mcanz, if you connect the device to the PC it will get an IP, you can just map it as you normally do.
