Timemachine must create a new backup

Hi,

The timemachine backup works for a few days and then this message comes up.

‘Time Machine completed a verification of your backups on “LaoHu13”. To improve reliability, Time Machine must create a new backup for you.’

is there a fix for this?

on mac os 10.10.3

This happens on both the imacs we have at home.

Hi, welcome to the community.

I have seen this before and this happends because the Time Machine backup is corrupt. The solution I’ve seen to work from time to time is to mount the Time Machine backup image and rest a first aid using disk utility.
