Time Machine access

I have a MacBook Pro and I want to use my new My Cloud as the primary Time Machine drive. I KNOW the password to My Cloud, but the stupid machine won’t recognize the password when I go to Time Machine Preferences/Select Disk/TimeMachineBackup on “WDMyCloud”…

Any ideas on why it’s rejecting the password??

Thanks

Are you entering your disk password or your profile password for the Time Machine backup. I know that when I made my admin profile there is a password to enter the dashboard and then under the user group area it says password and email and that password is the one you might want to try turning off to see if it will let you in.

“Enter your name and password for the server ‘WDMyClud’ so that Time Machine can access it.”

It automatically fills out my name and I’ve tried every password. It also gives me the option to connect as Guest or Registered User. It auto selects Registered User and autofills my name.

Thanks a ton. That’s all it took. Anyone know why you can’t use it as a registered user? That seems silly.
