Three day old drive locked up with solid green light

I just purchased two 6GB drives, one for primary and another for backup. Three days into copying all of my data the primary drive decides to lock up and dissapear from the network. It just sat there with a solid green light. I could not load the dashboard or even see it on the router DHCP client list. I had to power cycle the drive so it could be seen on the network again. Has anyone else experienced this or have suggestions? I created a system report, are there any specific logs that I should be looking at for the cause?
