hello I have hard drives with very important data. Im looking for easy, cheap and 100% proof method to destroy all data. Software wipe like dban takes too much time. And my orders are to destory data physically. I have idea to warm up all drives in gas oven. Question is in what themperature the data will demagnetize ?
Drives cannot leave the office building. I cannot melt them, too big temperature, drill hole - not 100 % proof, disassemble drive - too much work.

Besides taking the unit apart and destroy the platters I’m not so sure about the others methods of destruction. However, I found this article online.
Microwave oven comes to mind. And since they seem to fail after the warranty period just wait it out (sorry little joke).
