can you use a blue wd drive in the my cloud ex2 ultra?

You technically CAN use a WD Blue drive;
BUT, by nature the Blue drives are intended for use in a PC which is not running 24/7/365 like a NAS. The WD “Red” series is intended for heavy duty NAS use. The blue drive would likely wear out sooner than you would like.
(Use Red Plus or Red Pro drives; not plain red: Google “WD Red SMR” for background)
