Hi,

I have a My Book World Edition 1TB with a white light.

I was using it very nicely until about 4pm yesterday when suddenly I got the following message.  I can access via another laptop but the main house one has stopped working.

This is the message:

An error occurred while reconnecting y: to

\MyBookWorld\Public

Microsoft windows Network: The local device name is already in use.

This connection has not been restored.

any help would really be appreciated.

Hello, try disconnecting the My Book mapped folder and then pressing the reset button on the back of the My Book for 4 seconds. Then try to map the My Book again. Check the link below for more information.
