Hello, I’m running on Windows 7, WD Black 1 TB hard drive and Asus P8P67 Pro mother board. Since few days my system hangs for few seconds to minutes and I get this error in the event log “The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Ide\IdePort5”. This is very annoying, please advice. Hi there, try to run a test on the drive and see if there is indeed a controller problem, if not then check the MoBo itself or the oterh devices connected…
I find it quite weird since the CB is a SATA drive but you’re getting an IDE (PATA) error…
