The 4TB HDD only show 31,9GB of storage

I have tried to format the disk in all the file systems (NTFS,FAT 32 and exFAT). Nothing works. the overall storage is still 31,9GB.
How do i make it to it’s original 4GB storage again?

I think you’re in the wrong forum. You can’t format My Cloud NAS drives like that.

Oh. Its a WD My Book External Hard Drive. not a NAS drive.
And im sorry im in the wrong forum. don’t know where else to go.

Go back to the WD Community and scroll down to WD External Drives and look there.

I will add two things to look at, if you haven’t already.

well you are still in WD forum anyways, so I don’t see why not we answer you rather than telling you where to go…

I think the usable area after format is around 3.64TB or somewhere in that area for a 4TB drive. If you are getting less, it is most likely due to a partition. Go into your cmd line and use fdisk to delete the partitions and recreate a new single partition.

Good luck… and you can go to…

google if you need more help in deleting and allocating partitions.
