Terribly slow access to MyCloud with OSX Mavericks

This problem seems to crop up a bit but I have yet to see a solution.  Is it just me or does anyone else thing that 10 minutes to copy a 1.5Mb file from a MacBook Pro to a MyCloud is slow?

WIndows 8.1 PC performing same operation is practically instantaneous.

What gives with Mavericks?  Same problem irrespective of whether MacBook is connected wirelessly or via Gigabit ethernet.

The problem is probably Mavericks

My OSX version 10.6.8 perfroms horribly as well.  Is there a solution to this?

Thanks for the link Wooder.  Funnily enough it seems to be working OK today.  I am connecting to MyCloud using AFP.  Seems to be more reliable than SMB. ie AFP://192.168.1.n for server IP address.

Same situation… 2/3 minutes to open a folder from Finder…

A hard power cycle fixed the problem for me.

Do an orderly shutdown from the WebUI, and then pull the power for a few minutes.

Don’t know why it fixed it, and maybe the problem will be back.  But it actually allowed my Time Machine backup to work, even with the newest firmware.  Backup speed was going at kilobyes per second before the power cycle.
