Symantec encryption of 3 Tb drives (need multiple MBR partitions)

Hello,

I need to encrypt two Passport Ultra 3 Tb drives using Symantec (PGP) Whole Disk Encryption. However, I’ve now found out that the encryption software is not compatible with (a) partitions larger than 1.8 Tb, (b) the GPT partition style, or (c) 4 kb sector size unless it is emulating 512 byte sectors.

I understand the solution to this is to put two partitions on each drive, both under 1.8 Tb in size, using the MBR partitioning scheme and 512e sectors (aka advanced format). I understand this is supposed to be possible, but have not succeeded in getting either Windows Disk Management or WD software to do it.

Can someone advise how to do this?

Thank you.

Hello,

I haven’t try using that app. Let’s see if any of the users can share some information about it.
