My wdtv live plus will play 1080p video from a connected usb drive. when i try to play the same video streaming from either of my 2 PC’s (win7x64) over my network it stutters like crazy within 30 seconds and then just freezes. everything is wired with cat5 im using a trendnet wireless N router that has a 4 port gigabit switch in it model TEW-639GR and both NIC’s are gigabit. any idea why this would be happening. I really hate having the usb drive in my entertainment center. and it is running out of room fast.
MiserableMrG, maybe you should try contacting WD’s Technical Support about this. You can do so either by phone or email.

Miserable: Can you post inhere, what the support told / tells you? 
I’m having problems similar to yours…well, I could add, that when my WD box freezes, the internet connection on my computer is also down.
It worked fine with Vista, but since I changed to Win7, it all just have gone mad…
