Starting over

I am new to this external hard drive business. I bought it to back up pictures of my grandkids and any important documents. It has backed up everything including games and programs. What do I have to do to start over. I have the My Passport Ultra.

I have one too and my computers is not recognizing it.

My computer recognizes it…but I want to start over. So delete what is on it.
